  The Cast

 
Greg Raposa  -  Franz Kafka
Greg Raposa is a senior Theater major, graduating from UNC-Wilmington in May 2002. Greg´s stage work is highlighted by his roles as Pete Gint in Gint, Hero in The Rehearsal, and Adrian in Private Eyes.

Greg is also a writer/player for Wilmington, North Carolina´s improv and sketch comedy troupe, The Other Side.

 

Chris Ryan  -  Beggar
Chris is an active UNC-Wilmington Theater Major, who will be graduating in Spring 2002. He is also a member of the improv and sketch comedy troupe, The Other Side. "Create and embrace art and life."

 

Angie Peck  -  Girl
Angie attends the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she expects to graduate with Theater and Film Studies degrees in 2003. At UNC-Wilmington, she played Laura in The Glass Menagerie.
Angie recently studied Theater at the University of Surrey at Roehampton in London, England.

 

Garrett Droege  -  Priest
Garrett Droege had numerous titles while working on Conversation with Kafka: actor, storyboard artist, grip, cameraman, and even traffic director. This was his first international shoot, something that he now loves.
Garrett generally works on stage, but has worked on several films. He is also a company member of The Other Side. His future plans include graduate school.

 

Jason Smith  -  Supplicant
Jason, a recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington´s Theater department has been enjoying his time away from the classroom by working on a variety of projects ranging from voice-over work on an animated series to independent film projects and commercial work. He describes his experience in Prague as "edifying" and looks forward to reuniting with the cast and crew for the films release.

  The Crew

 
Dr. Renee Vincent  -  Director and Producer
Dr. Vincent is associate professor of theatre in the Department of Art and Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She holds an MFA in acting from the professional program at Southern Methodist University in Texas and a Ph.D. in
directing from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. She is a member of the Actors´ Equity Association, the Screen Actors´ Guild, and American Television and Radio Artists. Recently she was chosen as a member of the acting company of the International Film and Television Workshops in Rockport, Maine.

 

Bryan Kupko  -  D.P., Asst. producer, Camera operator
Bryan Kupko began working full time at JDC & Co. Int., Inc. in 1997 after an internship in 1996. Bryan graduated from UNC-Wilmington, where he founded the UNCW Film Club. He served as DP in such films as The Thickest Mask and
The Bakery, and Camera Operator in An Ordinary World and the local feature, Sergio Lapel´s Drawing Blood. Bryan is currently working on a Super 8 "Anamorphic" process and writing several screenplays, "The Pack" and "Black."

 

Michael McGuire  -  D.P., Asst. producer
During his three years at UNC-Wilmington, Michael completed six projects while double majoring in theater and communications studies. After graduation he begin working for the city´s educational access channel. He also began
making independent films and had just completed his first one when he began working on Conversation with Kafka. This was his first filmmaking experience in the role of DP (Co-DP). He enjoyed traveling to Prague and is excited by the outcome of the film.

 

John Roberts  -  Editor
Since attending the school of filmmaking at North Carolina School of the Arts, and serving as Post-production co-ordinator at Duke University Law, John has worked in both the American and Icelandic film industries. After directing the short films Orpheus
and Nervous Habits, he has worked as an editor on such films as Noi the Albino and Gemsar. He lives in Wilmington with his fiancée, Halla.

 

Dr. Paula Kamenish  -  Copy editor
Dr. Kamenish is associate professor of English, teaching courses in European literature and culture. She holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from UNC- Chapel Hill. She is a Phi Beta Kappa scholar and this year´s recipient of UNC-Wilmington´s Distinguished Teaching Professorship and Board of Trustees Teaching Excellence awards. She has lived and traveled extensively in Europe, making two trips to Prague. She has led numerous groups of students on study abroad programs to such sites as Quebec, Paris, Southern France, and Finland.
